Telos is a Greek word which means “goal”, “aim”, or ”purpose”. Aristotle, the famous Greek philosopher popularised the usage by explaining it as, “the inherent purpose of any thing” or “the ultimate reason for each person being the way they are”. At Telos Mental Wellness, we believe in providing affordable, accessible, and supportive therapy sessions. Head on to our “Story” section to find out more about us!
All the therapists here at Telos Mental Wellness are licensed and registered counsellors with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia. Each of us holds Master-level qualification from accredited universities. Going to your trusted others is a great way to get support, but it’s not the same as talking to a therapist. Therapists provide you with an unbiased “outside” perspective that is different from what your friends may see. Sometimes people worry that if they share their problems with their friends, then they will be burdening them or that their friends will treat them differently. A therapist is a professional whose job is to support you non-judgmentally. Hopefully it will feel more comfortable for you to talk about your problems, which will make it easier to get effective help.

The number of sessions will depend on your unique situation as well as your goals for attending therapy. Most people require between 6 - 12 sessions. However, it is helpful to keep in mind that just like life, your mental health can be an undulating journey. It is perfectly normal if you require more sessions to get you where you want to be than you first thought necessary.
