About Me

Confucius wrote, “our greatest achievement is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall”. I believe that each of us have specific struggles in our lives that are unknown to others. When these issues are left unresolved, this can negatively affect our general wellbeing, relationships, and even our outlook of the future. I have once experienced pain and difficulty, so much so that I thought to myself, “no one else can understand or help”. Fortunately, I realised that was not the case, and overcame it with the help of close others. Later on, I wondered about others who were suffering in silence, as I once did, but were lacking the support I had. This motivated me to become a therapist, to assist people in improving their lives.

I have served as a therapist in corporate settings and in one of the largest law firms in Malaysia. I also have prior experience in Human Resources and as a tutor. In therapy, I primarily work with young adults and mid to late aged adults struggling with the demands of life. I am open to working with clients from all walks of life, regardless of race, cultural background, gender, and sexual orientation. Even if two people have the same issues, their perspectives can vastly differ. As such, I tailor my approach to fit your needs.

My theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Reframing unhelpful perspectives that cause us distress with grounded, healthier ones is key to living our best life. I also borrow elements from Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Distress tolerance, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness are helpful skills from DBT that I share with clients. I enjoy using stories, analogies, and quotes to help clients better understand concepts and therapeutic techniques. I typically describe myself as easygoing, honest, and curious. As your therapist, I aspire to blend the aforementioned traits with a hefty helping of empathy, acceptance, and insight to assist you in reaching your goals.

If you’re looking for help, I’d be honoured to support in any way I can.

Experience and education that has prepared me to work with a number of issues, including:

  • Existential Crises/ Issues relating to meaning of life

  • Grief and bereavement

  • Addiction

  • Stress and burnout

  • Loneliness

  • Career-related issues
